Short biography...

Peter Meechan is one of the leading compositional talents of his generation writing for brass and wind. Born in Nuneaton, England, Peter began his composition studies at the North Warwickshire College, continuing them at undergraduate level at the Royal Northern College of Music, and at masters level at the University of Salford, where he is currently a PhD candidate.

Peter has received over 20 recordings released on CD, and has received performances and recordings from artists including: Steven Mead, Bramwell Tovey, Spanish Brass, Mark Scatterday, David Childs, David Thornton, James Gourlay, Clark Rundell, Andy Scott, Rob Buckland, Jacques Mauger, Tormod Flaten, Bones Apart Trombone Quartet, Black Dyke Band, Birmingham Symphonic Winds, Eastman Wind Ensemble, Coldstream Guards and the RNCM Wind Orchestra.

Two releases on CD by top fanfare band
siroccoSeveral of my pieces for brass or wind band have been expertly transcribed for fanfare band by Belgian Luc Vertommen.They are published by Band Press VOF who have recently produced a CD, entitled Sirocco.

Three releases on new Sellers Youth Band CD
SellersSellers International Youth Band is a brass band that I have had the pleasure of writing four pieces for, and they have recorded three of them on their first CD release.
