Any questions, please email us at: petermeechanmusic@googlemail.com WelcomePeter Meechan Music was set up in 2006, in order to publish some of the increasingly large output of the music of British composer Peter Meechan.The catalogue contains extended works, test pieces, concerti, as well as smaller concert items and solo works. To make it easier to find your way around the expanding catalogue, please use the menu on the left hand side to go to you required category: - works for wind (wind band), works for brass (brass band) and ensemble (brass quartets, etc.). For all other items, such as CD or piano accompaniments, select 'Other Works'. To locate a solo, select the category of the accompaniment - e.g. Works for Brass if it is a euphonium solo with brass band. Each category is listed in alphabetical order, and each work in the wind and brass band sections has been giving a grading. See below for more details. Each item now has a media page, featuring a sound clip, sample scores, and downloadable programme notes. For all of the other menu items, such as Frequently Asked Questions and Order Information, please use the menu bar above. News April 2009Apophenia, a concerto for trumpet and band written for Rex Richardson, has been released with both wind and brass band accompaniments. The solo part is available to download free of charge from here (right click...save as...).Also available now is Requiem Paraphrases with wind band accompaniment. Several new works for euphonium, including Fields of Destruction, and ...a night devoid of stars (Three unaccompanied pieces for euphonium, commissioned by Aaron Tindall) will be available soon. New releases for 2009Releases for 2009 will include: Apophenia, a concerto for trumpet and band written for Rex Richardson, will be released with brass band (February), and with wind band (March). Scores for both are now available, and a piano reduction will be released in February; Requiem Paraphrases for euphonium and wind band, scored for soloist Jason Ham, is now available, and another work for euphonium and winds "Fields of Destruction" commissioned by Pat Stuckemeyer, will be released in February.Grading systemAll works for wind and brass band have now been graded using the following scale:Grading: 1 = very easy 2 = easy 3 = moderately easy 4 = moderately difficult 5 = difficult 6 = very difficult How to order...You can order either by phone, e-mail or post - you can find our contact details here.
